We are a team of dedicated therapists trained in a variety of areas and with diverse backgrounds.  However, we all share the love and desire to help others and support our community.

Each struggle in life brings an opportunity to uncover conflicts and create healing with a deeper exploration in therapy. We meet people where they are in life and begin treatment there. We have hope that healing can occur in everyone if they have motivation.  We use cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma informed care, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing to explore patterns, beliefs, and get to the core so we can rebuild where the healing is needed.

Wike Counseling Services strives to help you overcome life adversities, develop effective coping mechanisms to help you through hard times, and support you to achieve the goals and outcomes you choose for yourself.

LPC, CAADC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been working in the field for 20 years. I believe we all have the capacity to change and grow, and that we possess the skills to do so. Sometimes, we need someone to guide us through this transformation.

I view therapy as a joint effort between the therapist and the client to not only address their primary issues and concerns, but also improve their overall sense of well-being. I recognize the need to approach each client as an individual with specific treatment needs. The “one size fits all” mentality doesn’t work when it comes to therapy. I draw from CBT, DBT, Person-centered background and Motivational Interviewing Therapy to help my clients develop healthy coping strategies to make positive changes in their lives.

My passion is providing therapy for adolescents and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. Each person I see is unique, so I individualize my approach based on your goals. Treatment will be tailored to your cultural and social background, including ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, gender, religion, and sexual orientation. Change can be hard, difficult, and challenging at times, but it can also be welcoming, positive, and just what you need to succeed. I look forward to working with you!

LPC, NCC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I have been in the mental health field for 10 years.  I started my career working with adolescents and families at a residential treatment facility.  As an outpatient therapist, I currently work with individuals ages 12 y/o and up, couples, and families.  I believe that people are the experts on themselves, but sometimes need a guiding hand to understand all aspects of their lives and make the changes they want to see in themselves.

My therapy approach is centered on improving my client’s present-day life by changing thoughts, perceptions, and behaviors; but the past often is a major part of the “why” in people’s lives and needs to be addressed as well.  My framework stems from modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy and person centered therapy, but each person’s needs are different and sessions are tailored to the goals of each client.

I also believe in taking the “whole person” approach to therapy.  It is important that all aspects of a person are considered – health and wellness, behaviors that include healthy eating and exercise, spirituality, and relationships with others.  I believe it is important to explore each of these aspects of our being to understand whole health and wellness.   since we as humans, are not only our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.  I also believe that animals can be beneficial to the therapeutic process, and can be incorporated  into sessions when appropriate.  As your therapist, I am committed to your journey of whole health and wellness, and I am committed to creating a safe environment for you in this process.

You can be confident that as your therapist you will be treated with the upmost respect and compassion. Your treatment will be personalized to your cultural and social background including ethnicity, race and socioeconomic status, gender, religion and sexual orientation. My educational and professional background has afforded me the experience of working with a vast array of clientele and has allowed me to recognize the importance of flexibility and adaptability as therapist. I started my career in 2016 working in the community with children, adolescents and families. Most recently, I have been working with adolescents in a residential treatment facility. As an outpatient therapist, I currently work with individuals, couples and families. I believe that all people need a calm, non-judgmental space to unpack their lives, in order to make change in the areas they struggle with the most.

My therapy approach is centered on creating a safe and interactive environment to tackle difficult subjects, confront unresolved trauma and overcome personal battles. I utilize a combination of Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Eco-systemic Structural Family Therapy to inform my practice. However, it is essential to look at each person as a unique individual and to treat their specific needs. I believe that every person has the power of change, with the right support and care.

My role as a therapist is to be a nurturing, guiding support and provide a safe space for clients to process their vulnerabilities. Together, we will look at their lives as a whole and work together to create an individualized plan that is tailored to your needs, wants and hopes for your life. I am passionate about meeting my clients where they are and guiding them through a healing journey.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor and I have been in the mental health field for 18 years. I started my career working with children, adolescents and families at several psychiatric residential treatment facilities. As an outpatient therapist, I currently work with children, adolescents, and adults. I believe in a person-centered solution-focused approach to therapy; meaning, that the individual is an expert on themselves and it is my role as a therapist to walk alongside you and encourage you, empathize with you, and help you to understand and implement healthy and positive changes in your life to better yourself. Additionally, I strongly believe in a bio/psycho/social/spiritual model to counseling which adheres to treating a person as a whole to achieve wellness, and I am committed to helping you work towards these goals through therapy.

I specialize in cognitive behavior therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, reality therapy, creative therapies, and play therapy. I am looking forward to training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy this summer.

Finally, I have a specialization in Christian counseling from Liberty University and I am able to offer faith-based counseling services upon request.

LSW

As Master’s Level therapist certified in Trauma and Interpersonal Violence, I have dedicated my professional life to working with children and adolescents. I have experience working with adolescents in a residential facility and mentoring children with trauma, with specific risk factors for human trafficking. Over the course of my time working with children and adolescents, I have learned the importance of patience, being flexible and being willing to meet them exactly where they are at. I believe in creating a peaceful environment that nurtures growth and opportunity to be honest with yourself. I believe that it is important to create a space for individuals to be able to express themselves in their own unique ways.

My approach to therapy is looking at the person and their environment, recognizing how the things around us impact our lives. In my therapy practice, I utilize Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-in-Environment, and Narrative Therapy. In utilizing these approaches, it allows me to identify the impact of the environment on the whole person and use their narrative to process through their experiences.

When working with my clients it is my role as the therapist to be a support for them as they process through their thoughts and emotions. It is my responsibility to be a friend to walk alongside them in their journey to overcoming and moving forward towards a healthy, safe life.
